Juvenile in Custody Following Investigation into Potential Threat Toward De Queen Schools

DE QUEEN, AR – The Sevier County Sheriff’s Office and the De Queen Police Department have successfully resolved an investigation into a potential threat directed at local schools.

Late last night, law enforcement received a report concerning a threat connected to the De Queen school system. Officers immediately initiated a comprehensive investigation to determine the validity and source of the report.

Following the swift coordinated effort between the Sheriff’s Office and the De Queen Police Department, appropriate action was taken to ensure the safety of the community. A juvenile suspect was identified and taken into custody. The individual is currently being held at a juvenile detention facility.

Safety and Privacy
Authorities have emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to students, staff, or the general public. While the investigation is resolved, law enforcement is strictly adhering to privacy protocols regarding the identity of those involved.
