Arkansas Court Gives Man Probation In Sexual Assault Case

A southwest Arkansas man who sexually abused two girls over a seven-year span has been sentenced to 15 years of probation under a plea deal with Miller County Prosecuting Attorney Connie Mitchell’s office.

Randy Lynn Henry, 51, pleaded guilty Tuesday in Miller County Circuit Court to two counts of first-degree sexual assault, one for each victim. Court records show both girls were young teens when the abuse happened between 2008 and 2015.

Texarkana police said a felony warrant for Henry’s arrest on two counts of rape and sexual indecency with a child was issued Jan. 6 of last year. He remained wanted for a week before turning himself in to law enforcement on Jan. 13.

Henry was ultimately charged with three counts of rape and three counts of first-degree sexual assault. Before Circuit Judge Wren Autrey, two of the rape charges were reduced to first-degree sexual assault, and the remaining rape count and three sexual assault counts were dismissed.

Henry must register as a sex offender and is barred from any contact with the victims. He was not fined but owes court costs and fees, and may face supervision fees from Arkansas probation officials.
