BENTONVILLE, Ark. — A 61-year-old Centerton man already awaiting trial on a rape charge in Washington County is now charged with rape in Benton County, after a man told sheriff’s investigators that Randy DeWayne Stacy groomed and sexually abused him over several years when he was a teenager.
Stacy was arrested Oct. 14 on a bench warrant and booked into the Benton County jail, where a judge set his bond at $15,000 cash or surety. Jail records show he was released two days later. The warrant, a probable cause affidavit and a no-contact order were filed in Benton County Circuit Court on Monday. He is due in court Nov. 16.
Rape is punishable by 10 to 40 years or life in prison.
Lt. Keshia Edgmon of the Benton County Sheriff’s Office wrote that she was assigned the case in November 2025 and interviewed the man later that month. The abuse allegedly happened between 2013 and 2016, when he was in his early to mid teens, according to the affidavit, which is heavily redacted to protect his identity.
Stacy, whom the man had not known before, invited him to hang out at his apartment, bought him chewing tobacco and let him come over when he was grounded, the affidavit said. Stacy allegedly began pressuring him to watch pornography in exchange for the tobacco, then performed oral sex on him “more times than he could count” and persuaded him to perform sex acts on Stacy. Stacy gave him expensive jeans, a moped, Beats headphones, cash, alcohol and a trip to Colorado, introduced him to friends as his “boyfriend” and told him he loved him, according to the affidavit.

Only two of the incidents happened in Benton County, the man said, one during a hunting trip on rural property and one when Stacy was left to watch him overnight. The rest allegedly happened in Fayetteville. He told the detective he ended the contact on his own as a teenager and that “it’s taken a lot of years and a lot of therapy to realize that what happened wasn’t his fault.”
The man also said he knew of other boys Stacy had done the same with and that Stacy “had a pattern” of taking in young men who needed money or a place to stay and expecting sex in return, the affidavit said. A second man later told a Fayetteville police detective that Stacy had admitted performing oral sex on the first man, according to the affidavit.
Edgmon wrote that she reached Stacy by phone in January and that he refused to give a statement, saying he had already hired a lawyer. In an email to the detective in March, the man who reported the abuse apologized for missing a scheduled interview and wrote, “I don’t want him to do this to anyone else so if you need more information to go get him for what he’s done not only to [me] but as I’ve heard he’s done this to others I don’t feel great about ignoring this one.”
Fayetteville police opened their own case, and Washington County prosecutors charged Stacy in August with one count of rape involving a boy who was 15 or 16 between 2013 and 2016. Stacy was arrested on that warrant Aug. 20, posted a $15,000 bond and pleaded not guilty Sept. 18 before Circuit Judge Joanna Taylor. He is set for a jury trial Jan. 7. Bentonville lawyer Cody Dowden represents him in that case.
