Arkansas Allocates Over $118K for March Storm Recovery Efforts

Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has signed an executive order authorizing $118,070.95 in additional disaster relief funding for severe storms, flooding, and tornadoes that struck Arkansas on or around March 14, 2024.

The executive order, EO 26-06, amends a previous disaster proclamation (DR 24-03) dated May 6, 2024, to provide funds from the Governor’s Disaster Response and Recovery Fund under the Public Assistance Program.

The funds will be used at the discretion of the Director of the Arkansas Division of Emergency Management to cover both program and administrative costs related to the disaster recovery efforts.

According to the executive order, the severe weather brought adverse circumstances to citizens and public properties across the state, requiring supplemental state assistance to help affected political subdivisions recover from losses.

Sanders signed the order on March 5, 2026, under authority granted by Arkansas Code Ann. §§ 12-75-101 and related statutes.
