Hot Springs Man, 21, Charged With Capital Murder In Fatal Stabbings Of Grandparents

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — A 21-year-old Hot Springs man is charged with two counts of capital murder after police say he fatally stabbed his grandparents in their home Tuesday night.

Hot Springs police responded to a disturbance call at 106 Idlewood Street around 7:58 p.m. Tuesday, July 7. Officers made contact with Evelyn Parker, 73, who had multiple stab wounds. Officers learned her grandson, Terrance Parker, 21, had attacked her and her husband with a knife before fleeing the residence, according to a press release from the Hot Springs Police Department.

Inside the home, officers found Thedrit Parker, 75, unresponsive with knife wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Evelyn Parker was transported to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries.

Officers located Terrance Parker at Regions Bank, 1555 Malvern Avenue, at approximately 8:21 p.m. and took him into custody without incident. He was charged with two counts of capital murder and transported to the Garland County Detention Center.

The Criminal Investigations Division is handling the investigation.
