Communities Unlimited will host two free entrepreneurship workshops in Lewisville, Arkansas, next month as part of its Launch Local initiative.
The organization will offer Empower Entrepreneurship on March 21 and Capital Readiness on April 4, both at the Lafayette County Training Center. Each workshop runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is open to local residents at no cost.
Dale Rutherford, Communities Unlimited’s Area Director of Entrepreneurship, will facilitate both sessions.
The Empower Entrepreneurship workshop will cover fundamentals of starting a business, providing participants with tools and resources to develop business plans. The Capital Readiness session will focus on preparing entrepreneurs to pursue funding by understanding financial requirements and positioning businesses to attract capital.
Registration is available online for Empower Entrepreneurship and Capital Readiness.
The Launch Local program evolved from the MEMShop model that began in Memphis, Tennessee, in 2012. The initiative activates vacant or underused storefronts by selecting local businesses through a competitive process and providing small grants, technical assistance and training.
Communities Unlimited is already working in Lewisville through its Community Sustainability, Community Infrastructure, Broadband and Lending teams to support the community’s growth.
Founded in 1975, Communities Unlimited is a nonprofit organization serving more than 1,000 rural communities across Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas. For more information, visit communitiesu.org.
