ASP Seizes 190 Pounds of Marijuana During I-40 Traffic Stop

Arkansas State Police said troopers seized 190 pounds of illegal marijuana during an Interstate 40 traffic stop in Monroe County.

MONROE COUNTY, Ark. — Arkansas State Police said troopers seized 190 one-pound bags of illegal marijuana during a traffic stop Monday, June 22, 2026, on Interstate 40 at the 217-mile marker in Monroe County.

According to ASP, troopers stopped a black Chevrolet Silverado around 6 a.m. for a traffic violation. During a search of the vehicle, troopers found the marijuana in the bed of the truck.

The driver, a 17-year-old from Oklahoma City, was arrested and taken to the Brinkley Police Department. Brinkley police later transported the juvenile suspect to the Craighead County Juvenile Detention Center.
