A 20-year-old Mississippi woman died Thursday evening following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. Highway 65 and Highway 388 near Varner in Lincoln County.
Kajyla Hill of Greenville, Mississippi, was killed in the crash that occurred at approximately 6:26 p.m. on January 29, 2026. According to the Arkansas State Police crash report, Hill was driving a 2024 Nissan westbound on Highway 388 when she failed to yield and crossed the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 65.
A 2019 Peterbilt traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 65 struck Hill’s vehicle, which then left the roadway. Hill was transported to Delta Memorial Hospital, where she died from her injuries. The driver of the Peterbilt was not reported as injured.
The crash occurred under clear weather conditions, though road conditions were reported as wet at the time. Arkansas State Police are investigating the incident.
