MENA, Ark. — A Texas man was killed Friday afternoon when his motorcycle crashed on State Highway 88 in Polk County, according to Arkansas State Police.
Jose Ramon Nevarez, 48, of Wylie, Texas, was riding a 2011 Harley Davidson eastbound on Highway 88 when he failed to maintain control while negotiating a curve, according to a preliminary crash report. The motorcycle left the roadway and collided with a guardrail.
Nevarez was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash occurred around 4:06 p.m. under clear weather and dry road conditions.
Nevarez’s body is being held at Bowser Funeral Home in Mena.
Sgt. Bo Hayes of the Arkansas State Police investigated the crash.
