Dover Man Killed After Driving Wrong Way on I-40, Striking Two Semi-Trucks Near London

A Dover man was killed Monday night, January 5, 2026, after driving the wrong way on Interstate 40 near London in Pope County, colliding with two commercial vehicles in a crash that occurred at approximately 10:38 p.m.

Jason Dotson, 47, of Dover, was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-40 near the 78-mile marker when the driver of a 2015 Volvo semi-truck, also westbound, observed Dotson’s 2024 Chevrolet Malibu approaching head-on and steered to the right in an attempt to avoid a collision. Dotson’s vehicle struck the rear of the semi-truck before continuing into the inside lane, where it collided head-on with a 2025 International semi-truck that was also traveling westbound.

Dotson was transported to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. His remains were transferred to the Pope County Coroner’s Office. Weather conditions at the time of the crash were clear, and the road surface was dry.

The Arkansas State Police is investigating the crash. No additional injuries were reported among the occupants of the other vehicles involved.
