A Fayetteville man was killed Wednesday, March 11, 2026, after his vehicle left the roadway and struck a median wall on Interstate 49 in Lowell, according to the Arkansas State Police.
Philip A. Reed, 57, was pronounced dead following the single-vehicle crash, which occurred at approximately 6:16 p.m. near the 78-mile marker on I-49 in Benton County. Reed was driving a 2018 Dodge Ram southbound on the interstate when the vehicle departed the roadway and collided with the median wall.
Conditions at the time of the crash were clear, with dry road surfaces reported. Reed was transported to Mercy Hospital following the collision. His body is being held at the Benton County Coroner’s office.
The Arkansas State Police are investigating the crash.
