Fayetteville Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle at North College Avenue and Joyce Boulevard

A Fayetteville man died Saturday, January 10, 2026, after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a busy intersection in Fayetteville, according to the Arkansas State Police.

The crash occurred at approximately 6:40 p.m. at the intersection of North College Avenue (U.S. Highway 71) and East Joyce Boulevard in Washington County. James Gilbert, 37, of Fayetteville, was crossing the roadway when he was struck by a 2020 Ford F-150 traveling northbound on U.S. 71.

Gilbert was transported to Washington Regional Medical Center following the collision. He was later pronounced dead as a result of his injuries. His body is being held at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Weather conditions at the time of the crash were clear, and the road surface was dry, according to the crash report. The Arkansas State Police is leading the investigation into the incident.
