Georgia Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash on I-40 in Lonoke County

A Georgia man was killed Monday, March 9, 2026, when his pickup truck left the roadway and struck a tree on Interstate 40 in Lonoke County, according to the Arkansas State Police.

Paul Clarke, 61, of St. Simons Island, Georgia, was pronounced dead following the crash, which occurred at approximately 5:55 p.m. near the 172-mile marker on eastbound I-40 near Lonoke.

Clarke was driving a 2022 Toyota Tacoma eastbound on I-40 when the vehicle departed the roadway and collided with a tree. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Conditions at the time of the crash were clear, with dry road surfaces.

Clarke’s body was transported to the Lonoke County Coroner’s office. No additional injuries were reported in connection with the crash. The Arkansas State Police are leading the investigation.
