A 43-year-old Amity man was killed Saturday, March 7, 2026, in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 70 West near Airport Road in Hot Springs, according to the Arkansas State Police.
Matthew Kersey, 43, of Amity, was driving a 2016 Ford Escape westbound on Highway 70 West when he lost control of the vehicle shortly after 1:30 p.m. The vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane and struck the camber of a 2024 Ram 2500 before colliding with a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado, which was also traveling eastbound.
Kersey was transported to CHI St. Vincent hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Three individuals in total were reported injured in the crash. The Garland County Coroner is holding Kersey’s remains.
Rain and wet road conditions were reported at the time of the crash. The Arkansas State Police is leading the investigation into the incident.
