A 24-year-old Texas man was killed Friday, January 23, 2026, after his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree on Interstate 30 near Texarkana, according to the Arkansas State Police.
Caleb Bird, of Nacogdoches, Texas, was driving a 2006 GMC Savana eastbound on I-30 near the 6-mile marker in Miller County when the vehicle departed the roadway and collided with a tree. The crash occurred at approximately 9 p.m.
Investigators noted that weather conditions at the time of the crash were wet, with icy road conditions reported on the interstate. Bird was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was transported to the Miller County Coroner’s office.
The crash was investigated by the Arkansas State Police. No additional injuries were reported.
