North Little Rock Woman Dies in Early Morning I-40 Crash

A 24-year-old North Little Rock woman died early Wednesday morning after her disabled vehicle was struck from behind on Interstate 40 in Pulaski County, according to Arkansas State Police.

Cassandra Daniels was killed in the crash that occurred at 6:03 a.m. on eastbound I-40 at the 159-mile marker in North Little Rock. According to the preliminary crash report, Daniels’ 2018 Nissan was disabled in the left lane when a 2020 Mercedes, also traveling eastbound, struck the rear of her vehicle.

Weather and road conditions were clear and dry at the time of the crash, according to the report. Daniels was transported to Baptist Health, where she was pronounced dead. Her body was taken to the Pulaski County Coroner.
