A 58-year-old Paragould woman died Saturday evening following a head-on collision on U.S. Highway 49 in rural Greene County, according to the Arkansas State Police.
Melissa A. Alsup was driving a 2007 Cadillac northbound on U.S. Highway 49 near the 5360 mile marker when her vehicle crossed left of center into the southbound lanes at approximately 5:27 p.m. The Cadillac struck a southbound 2019 Kia head-on, police said.
Alsup was transported to Arkansas Methodist Medical Center, where she died from her injuries. Her body was held at the Greene County Coroner’s office. Two other individuals were injured in the crash, according to the report.
The crash occurred on dry pavement under cloudy skies on Feb. 14. Arkansas State Police are investigating the incident.
