Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Two Vehicles on I-57 in Sherwood

A pedestrian was killed early Thursday morning after being struck by two vehicles while attempting to cross Interstate 57 in Sherwood, according to the Arkansas State Police.

The fatal incident occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. on northbound I-57 near the 4-mile marker in Pulaski County. According to the crash report, the pedestrian was attempting to cross the interstate when he was struck by a northbound 2013 Toyota Tundra. A second vehicle, a 2019 Freightliner, also struck the pedestrian.

The victim, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was transported to the Pulaski County Coroner’s Office. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity pending notification of family members.

Weather conditions at the time were cloudy with dry road conditions. The Arkansas State Police is investigating the incident.
