A 22-year-old Texarkana man was killed Friday, January 9, 2026, after losing control of his motorcycle and striking a cable barrier on Interstate 49 southbound in Miller County, according to the Arkansas State Police.
Samuel Gutierrez, 22, of Texarkana, was operating a 2004 Yamaha motorcycle southbound on I-49 near the 35-mile marker when the crash occurred at approximately 4:31 p.m. Gutierrez lost control of the motorcycle, which then collided with a cable barrier along the roadway.
Weather conditions at the time of the crash were clear, and the road surface was reported as dry. Gutierrez was pronounced dead at the scene. His remains were transported to the Miller County Coroner’s office.
The crash was investigated by the Arkansas State Police. No additional injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
