A West Virginia man was killed Thursday evening, January 22, 2026, in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 30 westbound near the 73-mile marker in Clark County, just outside Arkadelphia.
David Austin McCourt, 36, of Webster Springs, W.Va., was driving a 2025 Chevrolet westbound on I-30 when his vehicle struck the rear of a second vehicle at approximately 7:29 p.m. Following the collision, both vehicles continued into the cable barriers along the interstate.
McCourt was transported to Baptist Health, where he was pronounced dead. No additional injuries were reported. Weather conditions at the time of the crash were clear, and the road surface was dry.
The crash is being investigated by the Arkansas State Police. McCourt’s remains are being held at the Pulaski County Coroner’s office.
