A Royal woman died Saturday, March 14, 2026, following a head-on collision on State Highway 7 in rural Yell County, according to the Arkansas State Police.
Jennifer Gonyea, 56, was a passenger in a southbound 2026 Chevrolet when a northbound 2021 Chevrolet crossed the center line and struck the vehicle head-on. The crash occurred at approximately 9:37 a.m. under clear skies on a dry roadway.
Gonyea was transported to Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Her body was released to the Yell County Coroner’s Office. Information on additional injuries or the condition of the driver of either vehicle was not immediately available in the preliminary report.
